Mr. Bobby Lee Groce, 66, of West Old US 421 Highway, Yadkinville, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, at his home.
He was born July 3, 1945 in Surry County to Arvil W. and Archie Bell Cave Groce. Mr. Groce retired from Unifi Inc. as a Lab Supervisor, and was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was an active member of the Yadkin Valley Cruisers, and enjoyed fishing and playing golf with family and friends.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 46 years, Marie Long Groce, of the home; 2 sons, Michael (Julie) Groce, Yadkinville, Jeffrey Groce, Yadkinville; 2 grandchildren, Tate Williams, Ty Groce; his mother of Yadkinville; and his brother, Franklin (Linda) Groce of Yadkinville.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Mike Allen and Rev. Jon Bowman. Burial will follow in Longtown Cemetery with full military honors by Yadkin VFW Post 10346.
